ISLAMABAD: A parliamentary committee has appreciated the quality work being done by the AKD Group in the construction sector in Karachi.
The National Assembly Standing Committee on Housing and Works in its meeting held the other day with MNA Mian Abdul Mannan in the chair appreciated the construction quality of The Arkadians – Pakistan’s tallest residential project being executed by the AKD Group in Karachi. The committee appreciated the role of the AKD Group in offering state-of-the-art residential facilities to the local and overseas Pakistanis as well as foreigners living in the country. The committee also appreciated the professional commitment of Group Chairman Aqeel Karim Dhedhi and CEO Ayesha Dhedhi.
The committee discussed a calling attention notice moved by lawmaker Khalida Mansoor regarding the allotment of government accommodations to National Assembly (NA) employees. The committee was informed that all employees of the Lower House were now entitled to government accommodations.
While considering the matter pertaining to issues being faced by the allottees of Maymar project in Karachi, the committee expressed its displeasure on the attitude of the Maymar Group. The committee was informed by the allottees that the management was creating hurdles in the way of getting electricity connections for the houses. A sub-committee under the convenership of Shahida Rehmani was constituted to look into the matter.
