LAHORE: State Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif have underlined the need to revive the country’s rich cultural heritage to fight intolerance and extremism.
They said that that it was imperative to make the youth aware of their culture and national heritage.
The chief minister said that Pakistan was more prosperous, developed and secure than it was four years ago.
He said that a discernible improvement had been witnessed in all spheres of life during the last four years courtesy the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government believed in selfless service to the masses.
Taking a swipe at his political opponents, the chief minister said that the nation had rejected those who were involved in negative politics. “Those who were levelling baseless allegations would be eliminated in upcoming elections, as people would cast their votes on the basis of performance.” Shahbaz said that the journey of progress and prosperity would continue under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The state minister, who called on the chief minister here on Sunday, heaped praise on the chief minister for his services to the people of Punjab. She said that CM’s vision to serve the people had been acknowledged worldwide.
“Punjab has made commendable strides in all sectors under the exemplary leadership of the chief minister, which has been appreciated across the world,” added Marriyum.
The minister also congratulated the chief minister on his successful visit to China.
