ISLAMABAD: A spokesperson of the Power Division on Tuesday claimed that power lines of the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) had tripped, resulting in a power shortfall of 1200 Megawatts (MW) across the country.
The information explains the load-shedding that has been sporadically occurring in parts of the country since Wednesday.
The spokesperson further added that the tripping would impact the four Chashma Power Plants.
He also claimed that the first two Chashma plants would soon be operational, but the other two would take time to become operational.
The tripping, coupled with the fact that the Neelum-Jhelum Power Plant is currently in a testing phase, means that the country will witness bouts of load-shedding in the coming days, the power division official said.
