KARACHI: An Afghan town Nazim mastermind of an active robbery group operating in Karachi emerged on Friday.
Group of Afghan nationals had been conducting robberies in Karachi from the past three years. The head of the gang was residing in Karachi since March 1, but fled to Afghanistan after his aides were arrested.
The head of the group has been identified as Hameedullah by his accomplices in Police custody stated Clifton SSP Tauqeer Naeem.
Naeem said that a group of 50 Afghan nationals was involved in robberies conducted in the posh area of Metropolis on March 7. The suspects in custody revealed to the police that they were also involved in sexually abusing women during the robberies.
The Police informed that the robbers were mainly residing in Itehad Town, Buffer Zone, Akhtar Colony and Machhar Colony temporarily, but had permanent roots in Afghanistan.
