QUETTA: Provincial Health Minister, Mir Rehmat Saleh Baloch has said that all districts of Balochistan would be provided with HIV/Aids diagnostic centers which would be equipped with latest and required scientific equipment.
The patients would also be provided with medical treatment of the disease at district level. He was addressing a seminar on adopting preventive measures against HIV/Aids which was organised here by the Provincial Aids Control Program and non-governmental organization called Legend.
The minister said: “The best preventive measure against HIV/Aids is to raise awareness among people about the fatal disease.” Promoting principles of hygiene in the society could also help in saving people from deadly diseases, he said.
He said that his department was putting efforts to establish HIV/Aids Diagnostic and Treatment Centers in every district of the province where patients would also be provided medical treatment. He said that aids screening of prisoners in all prisons of Balochistan would be made to diagnose the communicable disease.
“The HIV/Aids screening of 900 patients at prisons in Quetta has been made and the screening process was underway at remaining prisons of the province,” he said.
